A snowy visit from Aunt Sarah

Aunt Sarah has arrived and everyone's pumped!  Unfortunately she arrived right in the middle of 2 snowstorms.  Tuesday was the right day to come as we were getting some significant snow on Monday and Wednesday.  Who cares if it was just 75 and sunny.  It's never too late for some snow.  As time would tell, even May isn't too late!
What are you lookin at?
We didn't get out a whole lot due to the weather but were able to go to lunch a few times, do some shopping, and show Aunt Sarah Lucky Strike(where I work sometimes).  We got to hang out with friends a bunch had some quality Paul, Emily, and Averie time too!  Cody and his dog Angus came to visit as well.  We mostly ordered food which isn't normal but with the weather it was easier and more convenient that going to the store.  I did make dinner one night, Chicken Parm that turned out pretty well.  Aunt Sarah was able to spend a lot of time with George but didn't get to babysit.  The weather again put a damper on that.  Courtney and I were going to take advantage of having someone who would love to babysit here with us, but the opportunity just never came.  Next time Aunt Sarah!
We were invited to Paul and Emily's house for dinner where we were lucky enough to be a part of Emily's first pot roast.  It turned out great.  Especially for a vegetarian recently turned meat eater.  Welcome to the good side!  As usual Averie was loving on George and can't enough of him!  She was a big fan of Aunt Sarah as well.

We'll get some more pictures up soon of some of the outfits and exersaucer that Aunt Sarah bought for George as well.  Thanks for all of the gifts Aunt Sarah!  Of course she left 70 degree weather in Buffalo to come to snowstorms here.  And in fitting fashion, the day after she left we jumped up in to the 70s and she returned home to crummy weather in Buffalo.  Hopefully, that's an excuse for her to come back soon and enjoy the hot summer and enjoy Colorado.  I'll leave you with a link to an awesome video of George showing tummy time who's boss.

Easter Sunday and Baseball is upon us...finally

Alrighty...new post, new look for your viewing pleasure.  Sorry it's been over a month since our last get together!  I am going to make a strong effort to not let that happen again.  Not only do you miss my voice in your head, I'm sure, but you also don't get to keep up with George and that's just not fair.  I know.  I'm sorry. Here's to a new beginning.
We'll start with a picture of George in the shirt that Uncle Tom got him from Jackson Hole, Wyoming.  Yes, it says "I Love Big Dumps" and it's funny cause it's true.  Immediate relief.  We all miss Uncle Tom, and Grandma and Grandpa Loehfelm and can't wait for them to come back!!
The rest of March was business as usual ending with Easter Sunday which we celebrated at my cousin Megan's house.  It's always nice to see Megan and Pete and I know George is going to love hanging out with Ben and Mercedes.  Aunt Marion was also in town and got to meet George for the first time.  His other cousin and daycare companion, Sebastian, was also there with Matt and Nichole.  A good ol' family get together for Easter.  As always great food and great company!
Easter Outfit
April Fool's Day came and went without incident which is always a good thing.  I'm sure George will think it's funny to prank us before too long.  Ben and Mercedes shared some ideas with us that they like to do to Megan and Pete.  Salt on the toothbrush was just one of many!  No thanks.
Sebastian
The first week of April was also George's 2 month doctor's appointment.  I know I've mentioned it before but time flies!  The first appointment we were 10 minutes late for and had to reschedule.  I refuse to believe that anyone is on time for these 2 month checkups and couldn't believe they weren't able to see us.  Oh well, they were kind enough to give him his shots so that was nice.  He took them like a champ!  A crying, screaming champ, but a champ nonetheless.  He was OK shortly after the initial jab once he got his pacifier.  There was one of the shots that he drank and it was without incident, not sure why they can't make them all that way.  I also don't mind drinking shots but I guess I can't say they go without incident!  Anyhow, George recovered nicely from the shots and wasn't too out of whack, just a bit tired but no fever.  The shots and missed appointment were on a Friday and we were able to reschedule the checkup for Monday.  We also switched offices so we don't have to drive downtown anymore seeing that we were 0-2 getting there on time.

The new appointment on Monday we were actually 10 minutes early for.  I guess that's actually "on time" as far as doctor's appointments go.  Everything went great except for the fact that the doctor was the sickest person George has been around.  She wore a mask but could hardly speak with her runny nose and raspy voice.  She isn't his regular doctor either.  Oh well, she did the job.  He weighed in at a healthy 13 lbs 12 oz (80th %) and was an even 2 feet tall(88th %).  Everything else seems good.  Looking forward to the 4 month checkup and unfortunately more shots.
Rockies Opening Day 2013
In the meantime, Rockies Opening Day!!  One of my favorite days of the year.  This year was a bit different but I wouldn't want it any other way.  I'm usually downtown by 9 a.m. for "work" entertaining customers and making sure they're having a good time before the game.  This year it actually fell on the Friday of George's initial doctor's appointment.  We went to the doctor(late) got the shots and came back home to see how George would react, relax, and watch the game.  Like I said, I wouldn't want it any other way.  Maybe next year he'll be big enough to take down there and see all of the people!  Soon enough we'll be taking him to his first game and I can't wait!  I hope he likes baseball as much as I do.
Now we have Aunt Sarah coming next week and can't wait!!!  George is so excited to meet his Aunt!

Grandma and Grandpa Loehfelm, Uncle Tom, and lots of animals!

Grandma Nancy and George's 1st Meeting

Grandpa George and George for the 1st Time
George's first introduction to Grandma and Grandpa Loehfelm!  Not the best pictures I know but they'll do.  The camera somehow got switched to manual focus and I couldn't figure out why they were all blurry for 2 days.  I still have some work to do on the photography side of things.  Grandma and Grandpa Loehfelm arrived on Tuesday, March 12th and we had an awesome time!  The weather could not have been better and I haven't spent that much time with them in quite a while.  George was pumped to meet them and I think we made the most of it.  We hung out at the house Tuesday night and Wednesday while everyone got situated and the weather brightened up. By Thursday, we went for a walk and brought George to the Grocery store for the first time.  Shorts and a t-shirt were all that was needed.  We returned home and it was so nice we decided to take a ride to Red Rocks Amphitheater to see some of the beauty.  A nice day for a drive and a nice day to be out and about.  After we got home and relaxed for a bit, we grilled some burgers and called it a night.

Being Good in the Stroller at the Zoo

We were lucky enough to have a 75 degree day on Friday as well and took advantage by going to the zoo.  We met our friends Eric, Jen, and their 2 1/2 year old Mazie.  George was great and slept pretty much the entire time we were there.  Soon enough he'll enjoy the animals.  I did.   There will be plenty more as time goes on.  We got a family pass for the summer and will most likely be spending many afternoons there.  Thanks Mom!   Below is a link to an album of the animals we saw if you're interested.

Family Pic at the Zoo
After the zoo, we went back home and relaxed for a bit before I had to go to work Friday night.  It was a promo for ONE ROQ Vodka and Courtney was able to come with me while Grandma and Grandpa babysat!  It was a little tough at first as it was Courtney's first time away from George.  She did great and was able to enjoy herself.  Out.  For the first time in awhile.  It was only about 2 hours that we were gone and I think that was plenty long enough.

Saturday was a long day of work for me from 1 until about 10:30 PM.  Courtney, George, Grandma and Grandpa went to Littleton for dinner at an old friend of Grandma's.  They brought home some leftover lasagna for me and it sounds like everyone had a good time!  They bought some pretty cool dinosaur outfits for George.

Mom and George in St. Patrick's Day Hat
Sunday was St. Patrick's Day and I went to the store in the morning and made my best(and first) effort at Corned Beef and Cabbage.  I think it turned out pretty good.  We had some visitors for dinner and watched a lot of basketball and hockey.  Matt, Nichole, and Sebastian were over...along with Paul, Emily, and Averie and Cody and Jessa.  George had on his green and even rocked the hat for a bit.  Not too long though.

Monday day was pretty uneventful as George was a bit fussy and we were awaiting the arrival of Uncle Tom.  George was very excited to meet him!  Uncle Tom was in Jackson Hole, WY for a wedding and swung by Denver for a few days before heading back to Atlanta.  It was great to have so much family here at once.  A rare occasion.  We made it work in our small house but Uncle Tom got stuck on the couch for a few nights.  He didn't mind.
Uncle Tom and George's Introduction
Tuesday was our last day and we decided to go to the aquarium.  It was pretty cool and was also mine and Courtney's first time there.  We ate lunch right when we got there and George again slept most of the time.  There are 4 tigers at the aquarium but they were not out which was a bit disappointing.  Disappointing because they call it Tiger Tuesday.  Not such a great name.  There were a lot of cool things there though and we'll be back for sure!  There were also snakes there which was unnecessary.  They don't need to be anywhere for all I care.  Here is a link to an album of aquarium pictures for those interested.

Here are some pictures of a bath that George is really starting to enjoy!  I think you can tell from the pictures...

Some pictures of his new Pack n' Play.  He's starting to get a bit big for the bassinet and it's much easier to leave it as a co-sleeper next to the bed!

And finally, the most recent pictures of George doing some tummy time on Mom's chest.  He's really getting the hang of lifting up his head on his own!  Enjoy...

Big Smiles!

 The end....for now
